From Sheila Armstrong, a dear friend and teaching colleague...to David, Alison and Richard. A valiant sprit gone, who could hold on no longer. I so admired Janet who was always able to 'stiffen the sinews' when necessary. I was glad of her expertise and wisdom when we worked together in Aldershot, and the enthusiasm with which she and Francis entered into my mad ideas. We understood but were sorry when she moved away, but knew the family would always come first. I am only sorry that my driving days ended when they did. We spoke frequently, and I guessed that I would not see her again in this life. I send you all my sympathy, and am glad you have each other.
